Why was the attempt to bring Sunita Williams to Earth postponed

RajaBharat News, Hyderabad, India : Astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, who have been stuck on the International Space Station for 9 months, are not looking to find a way out of their predicament anytime soon.

The launch that was supposed to bring them back to Earth on March 12 has been postponed.

The launch of a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Station in Florida has been postponed due to a hydraulic failure.

The rocket was supposed to carry four new astronauts to the International Space Station and bring Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore back to Earth from there. However, the launch has now been delayed.

Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore were scheduled to fly to the space station in June 2024 on a Boeing Starliner for an 8-day mission.

However, they were unexpectedly forced to stay there.

If Wednesday's rocket launch had gone as planned, Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore would have reached Earth on Sunday.

SpaceX said that the rocket launch was delayed due to a problem with the hydraulic system in the clamp arms. If all goes well, the launch is expected to take place at 11:03 pm GMT on Friday.

Sunita Williams handed over the responsibilities of the International Space Station to Russian cosmonaut Alexei Ochinin on March 8.

She handed over her responsibilities because she would have to return on the Falcon-9, which was scheduled to launch from Earth on March 12.

Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore are also scheduled to return to Earth along with those who went to the ISS as part of SpaceX's Crew Nine mission.
